3 out of 4 wins for West Brom BC

During a busy weekend our club enjoyed 3 wins out of 4 fixtures, starting with Coach Preware’s under 15s v Bournville Bears on Friday evening. A solid defensive team effort saw the under 15s come away with a dominating 88-34 win, in the second round of the LTG Cup. Louis, Daniel and Cornell led the team in scoring while Khari and Panashe made solid contributions off the bench, particularly at the defensive end.

Next up the men were set to host Trojans, with both teams eager to pick up their first WMBL premier league win. The game was close throughout until a fourth quarter run ignited by a solid team defensive effort and hot shooting by Luke Hatfield. This was enough to put the Trojans away and pick up the first win of the season, final score 57-74.

As always the support from our home fans was phenomenal. You can download all of our fixtures directly to you mobile, tablet or laptop here.

Sunday saw our under 13s host City of Birmingham Rockets while our under 17s travelled to take on the Worcester Wolves.

Despite the best efforts of Coach Cameron and his team, the more experienced Rockets were able to win the game comfortably 27-57. Despite the loss Coach Cameron remains optimistic and praised the boys for the progress they have made in such a short space of time.

The under 17s came away with a convincing 101-59 victory in the second round of the WMFS Trophy. Despite the win Coach Sheridan and the team know they have a lot to work on at the defensive end if they are going to defend their YBL title.
