Today our under 15s and under 17s both enjoyed victories away from home in the YBL league and cup competitions respectively.
The under 15s travelled to Warwickshire to take on the Hawks. The boys started strong and never looked back, taking a 28-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. This would continue for the rest of the game with the boys bringing home a 100 point victory, 119-19. Coach Sheridan was impressed with the under 15s performance, saying ‘These guys have improved so much during this season. They are beginning to trust each other and are playing better team basketball as a result, todays performance shows that. They need to keep their focus on improving every time they step on the court.’
The under 17s were also on the road taking on the Bournville Bears in the WMFS Trophy competition. The under 17s faced their toughest test of the season but were able to bring home a four point win. Down by two points with four minutes remaining the 17s were able to close out the game on a 10-4 run and seal the victory. Coach Cameron said ‘we started to play better defence in the second half, the guys looked like they wanted to play defence. We were able to hold on get the win.’
