We are delighted to announce that Bakari Goldbourne and Harvey Parsons from our under 13s have been selected to represent the West Midlands at this years Basketball England Regional Development Tournament.
Both players have been selected after being part of the Aspire Programme which started back in October. The Aspire programme is the first step on the Basketball England Talent Pathway. The Aspire Programme sits at the base of the model and is for 11 to 15-year-old basketball players originally selected through the National Scouting, Talent Identification & Tracking Programme from a talent pool of 20,000 boys & girls in clubs & schools nationwide.
Following their selection to the Regional Team Bakari and Harvey will be travelling to Manchester to compete against the other regions around the country.
“We are delighted to have two of our players selected to represent our region at this years RDT. Both players have worked extremely hard in what is their first season playing basketball. Their selection is a testament to their own hardwork and commitment as well as that of their coaches and families who have guided and supported their journey. I’m sure the tournament will provide a positive experience in their basketball journeys.” Club Director, Liam Sheridan.
Under 13s Head Coach, Ezekiel Cameron added “Both players have come extremely far in their first season. Its been a pleasure to be a part of their growth and development.”
