Wins for Under 17s and Men’s teams

Our under 17s remain undefeated in the YBL this season as they defeated Walsall 99ers 82-29 last night. After a slow start to the game the 17s took control of the game jumping out to a 19-6 first quarter lead and not looking back. Despite the large margin of victory the team know they must improve defensively as well as on the boards if they hope to defend their YBL title.

Scroers: Raheem 30, Shaun 18, Daniel 13, George 7, Jaskirat 6, Daljodh 4, Brandon 2, Daejon 2.

Next Saturday our under 17s take on Bournville Bears away in the WMFS trophy.

Our mens team were next in action hosting Stoke Shooters in the WMBL. The men played arguably their best quarter of the young season with excellent team defence along with great ball movement and player movement on the offensive end, picking apart Stoke’s zone. The hosts jumped out to an impressive 18-2 first quarter lead. After their huge first quarter surge the teams effort and energy levels seemed to drop. Despite this they were able to build on the lead and finish the game with a 78-56 victory. The team know they must improve on this as they travel to Sutton Coldfied on Tuesday to take on Birmingham Mets.

Scoreres: Mike 27, Luke 27, Adam 7, Dave 5, Alex 5, Ezran 3, Tyrone 2.

Coach Cameron and the under 13s will try and continue the clubs winning weekend as they host Nuneaton Predators in the LTG Cup at 2:15 on Sunday. Both teams are eager for their first taste of victory this season. Come and support Coach Cameron and the boys as they chase their first victory of the year!
