Over the past five weeks our juniors have been competing in the City of Birmingham Summer Central Venue League. During the competition a mix of our under 15s and under 17s have represented the club competing against two City of Birmingham teams, Coventry Tornadoes, Frankley Falcons and Charlton School.
Our boys were able to finish the first stage of competition on top of the league with and 8 and 2 record going into tonights semi-final and final games. In our semi final game we were matched up against COB. After a strong start to the game we were able to try different strategies and line ups to finish out the game and prepare for our finals show down against familiar foes Frankley. In a game of two halves we started the game strong with the team putting in a solid defensive effort to slow down Frankleys offence. The second half saw Frankley snatch momentum from us and take control of the game, going on to win the final.
The club would like to thank Rob, Kieran and the rest of the team at City of Birmingham Basketball Club for a great CVL which has provided a big step in the development of many of the juniors within our basketball program.
