Last week was a busy one at West Brom Basketball Club with 6 games in 5 days. Here is a catch up on all of the action from last week.
Starting with the division 2 mens team who made the trip to take on Rugeley Raptors. In what was a close fought game, the division 2 side were able to step up and take control in the fourth quarter on route to an 80-69 victory, continuing their impressive form in the league.
Friday saw our under 15s and under 17s host Leadonites Basketball Club. First up the under 15s fell victim to a slow start. Despite trailing by as many as 22 points in the first half the under 15s were able to cut the deficit down to single digits in the second half. However this would prove to be in vein as Leadonites would hold on and take the game 68-61. Up next our under 17s took to the court to host the Ledbury based side. Opening up an early lead the under 17s took control of the game and never looked back securing their first win of the season with an impressive 96-49 victory.
Sundays action started with our under 13s hosting Worcester Bears. The under 13s were able to continue their impressive form with a dominant 73-28 victory. This was followed by our mens premier team hosting Redditch Regents. Redditch came into the contest looking to secure their first win of the season but it was not to be, in what was a scrappy game our men were able to come away with a 74-61 victory to improve their league record to 4 wins, 3 losses. The week finished how it started with our division 2 side back on the road, this time making the trip to Telford to take on Rawzone basketball club. After a strong opening period our division 2 side took control of the game and never looked back. The division 2 side returned home with wan impressive 113-48 victory.
