Successful 2021-22 Season

Last weekend saw the official close of the 2021-22 season. In what was the first full season since the pandemic halted basketball activities our club has enjoyed a great deal of success across all of our age groups:

Under 9s – YBL Semi Finalists

Under 11s – YBL Finalists

Under 13s – YBL Champions

Under 15s – YBL Champions

Under 17s – YBL Finalists

Sandwell College – AoC 3 Winners

Under 19s – WMBL Div 2 Winners

Men Development – WMBL Div 2 3rd Place

Men II – WMBL Div 1 3rd Place

Men I – WMBL Premier Runner Up

As well as the above success of our teams many of our under 15s players have been a part of the West Midlands Aspire Program.

Owen Nwiwu (U13s) was also a part of the Regions Aspire Program and went on to be selected to represent the Central Area at the Aspire All Star Tournament.

Coach Gem who coaches our under 9s has also enjoyed a busy season of regional and international coaching through the Aspire Program and National Team coaching.

Our Men’s 1st Team have reached the final stages of the unofficial WMBL playoffs. The final and 3rd/4th place playoff game will be taking place on Sunday 3rd July at West Bromwich Leisure Centre.

Game 1. 3rd/4th place: 2:25pm tip off Bartley Rangers v Shropshire Warriors.

Game 2. Final: 4:15pm tip off West Brom Basketball Club v Worcester Bears.

Due to popular demand next season we will be entering a girls team into the YBL under 17s league.

This season our club has continued to grow with many new Level 1 coaches and officials gaining qualifications and experience allowing us to widen our reach. We are always expanding our workforce if you would like to get involved with the great work we are doing please complete this form.
