This weekend saw our junior teams tip off their YBL seasons with our under 13s, 15s and 17s in action as well as our division 2 mens team.
On Friday night our under 15s and under 17s hosted Walsall 99ers in their season openers. Coach Preware’s under 15s recorded an impressive 63-28 win to start their season. Coach Preware and the under 15s now look ahead to their next test versus Frankley Falcons. Click here to see under 15s action shots.
Up next the Under 17s from both clubs took to the court. A slow start hurt our under 17s and as a result they found themselves in a 17 point deficit heading into the halftime break. Showing great character they were able to our claw their way back to within 2 points of Walsall, however it was not enough as we went on to lose the contest 58-65. On Saturday Coach Cameron’s Under 13s hosted Leadonites. For many of our under 13s this was their first experience in a league game. Unfazed they put on a great display of teamwork and energy en route to a 74-31 victory. Coach Cameron and the team hope they can continue their winning ways when they travel to Bromsgrove Bears next Sunday.
