Summer League Success Continues for Juniors

Our Junior teams have enjoyed success in their respective summer league competitions as they hope to replicate the success of our mens team this summer.

The under 13s and under 15s have reached the semi final stage of their competition while the under 17s have booked their place in the final of the WMFS Trophy where they hope to defend their title against familiar foe Frankley Falcons.

The under 17s booked their place in the final following a nail biting two point win against Coventry Tornadoes. Both team began trading baskets which continued going into the half with just 4 points separating the two teams. West Brom took control of the game at the end of the third and start of the fourth quarter extended their lead to 12 points. However Tornadoes fought back with a vengeance taking a one point lead during the final 2 minutes of play. Both teams continued to exchange big baskets to end the game but we were fortunate enough to come way with 61-59 victory.

Head Coach, Shaun Poole praised the teams defensive effort following the game and gave a special mention to our under 15s Clinton, Shaquille and Jules who played in their first under 17s games and made huge contributions at both ends of the floor.

Our under 13s host Bromsgrove Bears this Sunday, 2:30tip off at George Salter Academy in their semi final while our under 15s travel to Coventry Elite on Saturday.
