Weekend Review, Week 5

Week 5 saw 5 games taking place across the club. In the only Saturday game our under 18s hosted City of Birmingham Rockets. In a tightly contested, competitive game Coach Preware’s U18s were able to come away with a slim 65-61 victory. The under 18s hope to keep up their winning streak alive next weekend when they travel to Coventry Elite.

The first of our four Sunday games saw our under 14s host Northants Thunder. In another tough game against a well established team our under 14s were able to defend their home-court and come away with a tough win 63-57 bouncing back from last weekends disappointing loss. The under 14s move to 3 wins and 2 losses for the season. Coach Cameron’s and Coach Lofters side will be working hard during half term as they prepare to host the Warwickshire Hawks next Sunday.

Next up our Women’s Development team travelled to TEAM Wolverhmapton SLAM. A low scoring first half saw the game tied at 21. However Wolverhampton would get the better of the second half to take the game 48-38. Our women’s development team move to 2 wins and 2 losses for the seasons they continue to gain valuable experience.

To finish the weekend our division 1 and division 2 mens teams started their respective Rosebowl cup campaigns. Our division 1 side successfully defended their home-court against Birmingham METs as they advance to the next round. Unfortunately for our Division 2 side they were unable to advance losing to Yardley Defenders on the road.
